Fine Particulates

The UK government introduced new air quality targets, which includes a legally binding target to reduce levels of fine particulate matter (PM_2.5) to 10 micrograms per cubic metre by 2040, and an interim target of 12 micrograms by 2027. Exposure to PM_2.5 can lead to heart attacks, strokes, and increase the risk of asthma attacks.
